Setting Up the Physical Infrastructure for Publishing a Newspaper

February 21, 2014

Two models can be used, when setting up the physical infrastructure for publishing a newspaper.

The first model that can be used, when setting up the physical infrastructure for publishing a newspaper, is that in which the printing press is housed close to where the typing of the paper is done. This can actually be within the same room for a small newspaper. So the whole thing here becomes a matter of typing the newspaper pages on the computers, and then sending them directly to the printers for the output that is subsequently circulated to the readers in a straightforward manner.

The second model that can be used, when setting up the physical infrastructure for publishing a newspaper is that in which the printing press is housed far from where the typing of the paper is done. So once the typing is done, the material that is to be published in the newspaper is carried, say, over the Internet to the remote location where the printing gets done. Alternatively, the whole thing can entail the development of the templates or stencils from which the paper is subsequently printed. That can happen if the printing is being done using the traditional equipment that was in use before the advent of computer technology.
